Problem
Safe access to a 9m high cab onboard a travelling crane.
- Concrete containers are picked up from their storage location using a travelling cane. This crane is controlled from an onboard crane at a height of almost 9m. Therefore access to this cab is particularly dangerous and there are risks of a fatal fall.
- There is no standard product that can facilitate safe access to this type of cab, the only way to adapt to these extreme conditions is to use a tailored product.
Solution
A tailored product created through cooperation between the Tubesca Comabi design office and CDB's technical services.
A precise solution to the customer's specification:
-
A staircase fitted with all safety elements necessary for access high above the ground: wide slip-resistant steps, rails, intermediate rails, intermediate landing with baseboards
-
An above-ground platform with balustrade and safety gate perfectly matching the shape of the travelling crane support column without leaving any space between the staircase and the suspended cab.
