Problem
The main problem with this project was to secure global maintenance of a tramset: front, side and roof.
The maintenance activity on a tramset requires three different access points:
- Front: repair and maintenance of windshields
- Lateral: repair and maintenance of internal and external walls of the tramset (doors, windows, subframe)
- Roof: repair and maintenance of the electrical system
Each maintenance zone has its own access, mobility and safety problems. Difficult working conditions that require equipment guaranteeing safety and comfort, regardless of the envisaged maintenance area.
Solution
A tailored product resulting from cooperation between the TUBESCA-COMABI design office and KEOLIS's technical services was developed to give a precise response to the customer' specification:
A set of 3 work platforms. Each of these platforms was made to satisfy the specific problems of each maintenance area. A complete equipment range for global maintenance of the vehicle in complete safety.
Different equipment combining all safety elements is necessary for this type of activity: access ramps, rails, intermediate rails, balustrades, slip-resistant steps, baseboards and stabilisers, etc.
